MAKE MONEY LICENSING YOUR MUSIC

Every smart musician knows that music licensing is a great way to increase your revenue stream. Here at Audiosocket, we help artists get their music into TV, film, commercials, video games, and new media.

Music Supervisors - the people who organize the music heard in TV, film, commercials, etc - are in constant need of quality recordings. They have budgets to purchase tracks and they are known to pay good money for them.

We work with music supervisors to find the right music for their projects. Some of our recent clients include: video game maker Flowplay, action sports brand Salomon, Microsoft, Intel and more. We're looking for bands and artists with great music recorded in high quality to showcase to music supervisors.

Here's how this process works:

We want to hear your 4 best tracks. On the following pages, we want you to tell us about yourself. We want you to upload your four favorite highest quality tracks and then we need you to make a $15 payment. This gives our review staff the time to give your music the attention it deserves.

Once our staff has listened to your music, we will get back to you letting you know whether we've accepted your music into the catalog. Take the deal and you're in the family.

You Outta Know

Audiosocket wants to be one of the people that represents your music for licensing (we don't need to be exclusive). Why? We know that you don't know us yet. If you're reading this, you just found us. We started out as artist managers - if we were yours, we'd tell you not to sign anything that says "exclusive" unless you are 100% sure that you trust these people. You just met us. So, let us gain your trust.

Audiosocket is selective in its application process. Why? We DO NOT ACCEPT EVERYBODY. We want our roster manageable and we want to give personal attention to the artists on it. We are looking for a particular sound and feel that has, above all else, quality in content and in recording.

Audiosocket wants to help educate you regarding music licensing, syncing, rights, etc. Why? Because, generally, musicians need to know more than they know. Music licensing has been there for a long time and never used as often as it should be by the common musician. Do a little work, we'll show you, and it is completely worth your time.

Audiosocket requires a $15 submission fee. Why? Because it takes time to listen to the four tracks that you submit. That is personal attention you may not get elsewhere. Competitively, there is no standard in this area... some competitors are free, (but have libraries of hundreds of thousands of songs) and others have hefty annual fees (and still have libraries of hundreds of thousands of songs). Still others charge a fee every time you submit music for consideration.

VERY IMPORTANT: Moreover, something that you should be keenly aware of, because it involves you getting paid more money: If you sign up as a member of ASCAP or BMI (which every self-respecting musician should do) you will get quarterly royalty checks every time this piece of licensed music airs on the airwaves. The amount of this check will correspond to how many potential listeners/watchers could actually be hearing your music at the time and is something that is handled by ASCAP or BMI. We can give you further information on how to go about this, it's not hard. This check though could be a very decent sized amount of cash (in additional to your already negotiated and paid initial chunk of money)... definitely not something to pass up!
